“It is with deep appreciation that I am writing this letter and would like to give a special thanks to Professional Touch Caterers who without hesitation volunteered to donate and help fee 400+ volunteers, construction workers and members of the Extreme Home Makeover staff.  On the morning of July 16th I received a call asking to sponsor the feeding of 400+ who were working on an Extreme Makeover Home for Baltimore’s Boys Hope/Girls Hope Home.  With adequate notice that would not be an issue for most sponsors but Extreme Makeover needed all fed at 6pm Saturday night July 17th just 24 hours after the initial call! After a week of severe thunderstorms, record breaking heat and a small earthquake the crew was running 48 hours behind with all working 24 hours around the clock.  While the taping and reveal of the house was on hold until the evening of Sunday, July 18th appetites were not.  My immediate thought was the only way to accomplish a feeding that large on such short notice was to call out to the most selfless groups I know in Baltimore.  Groups who do more charitable work for foundations and organizations in one month than what most do in a year, so I put an email to Baltimore Nests/Roosts and the Mariner Maniacs.  True to form within one hour I started getting calls and emails from Nest 2 confirming with the help of Professional Touch Caterers they could help.  Just minutes after 6pm the workers were coming up to me and saying that it was the best meal they had all week! Within 30 minutes word got out and all descended on the catering tent to get a taste of what Baltimore’s best tailgaters had to offer.  In just over an hour all food was gone, which according to the catering coordinator is something that had not happened all week long, a true testament to those preparing the meals.  Thanks to your generosity and kind hearts you represented as “Baltimore Best” and if I can ever be of assistance in anyway please feel free to call.” ~ Vickie Richards (July 2010 ~ Extreme Home Makeover Donation)
